The Home Horticulture Lecture Series covers the same topics Certified Massachusetts Master Gardeners study as part of their training…but in a streamlined format tailored to gardeners with busy lifestyles:

  • Ten 1.5 hr. lectures – one evening per week for ten weeks
  • No required reading, homework, testing or volunteering

PLEASE NOTE:  The Home Horticulture Lecture Series does not lead to Master Gardener certification. For more information on Master Gardener Training, click here.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Home gardeners of all levels of experience, including first-timers
  • Victims of under-performing perennials, shrubs, trees, lawns, and vegetable gardens
  • Veterans of weed, disease and pest “wars”
  • New and established homeowners looking to revisit their landscape and plant selection

 WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

  • Key fundamentals such as building great soil and how plants work
  • Practical how-to’s such as basic landscape design, perennial selection and care, and combating weeds, diseases and pests
  • Includes a free test of your soil’s pH by trained Master Gardeners – To perform at their best, many plants require soil with a certain “acidity score” (pH). Soil pH can be adjusted, or you can select plants suited to your current conditions.

INSTRUCTORS are Certified Master Gardeners with years of hands-on experience and a wealth of best practices, personal tips, and suggested resources to share. All lectures include detailed handouts and plenty of time for Q&A.

COST: The cost of the ten-lecture series is $250, payable by credit/debit card or PayPal. This averages out to just $25.00 each for the ten sessions.
